How to read this painting

1. The dark river (Doorway) - A dark vertical column runs down the centre. A river seen from above, and a doorway into depth.
2. The rising arcs (Flow) - White curves stack like ripples or temple steps. Water moving, and the ghats where people meet the river.
3. The seam (Silence) - A fine line where two canvases meet. A pause, like a rest in music. The river continues across it.
